My boy. My inspiration. My best friend through my most formative years. He has been my company through all my adventures with an abundance of love and a wagging tail. Gino was rescued from a reservation on the Northern Tip of Vancouver Island, British Columbia prior to being adopted by me from the SPCA. The Dogwood tree is the provincial flower of our Home which is where the name Dogwood Collars originates. Gino's unique look gained the attention of passerby's since he was a pup. I wanted to compliment his natural style with a getup that stood-out from the rest. I searched and searched, but all collars I came across seemed to be made out of similar materials, with repetitive designs; I envisioned something different.

 

Something comfortable that he could wear all the time, but sturdy enough to keep all 100lb of him safe on leash. The original version was made from a thrifted vintage beaded car seat cover and a simple tied string, and through countless hours of design and redesign, we came up with this version that is virtually indestructible, and nothing short of eye catching.
